We’re a Part of the Web of Life – “Walkin’ Jim” visits Jackson-Via

Students and staff were entertained AND educated by the return of “Walkin’ Jim” to the six Charlottesville elementary schools. We learned about our environment, his travels in the wilderness, and animal habitats. His close-up images of nature and wild creatures on the big screen excited us while his songs with the guitar engaged us.  Happy trails to you, “Walkin’ Jim.”

I like Jackson-Via because I get to go to recess for ten minutes. My teachers are nice and pretty. I am going home on June 6th. I will miss Jackson-Via!

I think I am different because when I first was born my mother noticed that when she looked into my eyes that it reminded her of beautiful flowers and oceans.  She did not care if I was different because she loved me.

I was sad one day because a kid laughed at me because I dressed like a tomboy but I am a girl.  I felt bad because he would not even say sorry.  I felt bad because he thought I was odd.  I think odd is a great, awesome thing.  You should try it!
